Under the lead of Prof. Volodymyr Aushev physicists of university have discovered a unique state of matter — an odderon, a compound state of several gluons, which are the carriers of the strong attraction. Odderon’s existence was predicted 50 years ago; however, experimentally it was discovered only now. In addition, in German laboratories, Ukrainian scientists studied the fundamental structure of protons. During their work in the USA, the researchers were able to improve the methods used to investigate neutrinos, which are among the most mysterious particles that have the unique ability to pass through the enormously thick layers of matter (hundreds of light-years thick!)
